Registration for “Space Camp 2026” is now open!
18 May
Summer is the perfect time to explore interesting places, gain new experiences, and discover something new. That is why in 2026 the Noosphere Planetarium is, for the third year in a row, launching its summer astronomy school Space Camp, giving children the opportunity to spend their time meaningfully and explore the most fascinating aspects of space.
This year, we have combined our best developments, quests, dynamic games, the most intriguing astronomical objects, and, of course, our new full-dome productions to create Space Camp “New Horizons”. It consists of 4 sessions held in an intensive format from Monday to Thursday and is dedicated to the theme of expanding the boundaries of what is achievable for humanity: from the dream of flight to the first step on the Moon, from the search for exoplanets to messages to extraterrestrial civilizations that humanity has sent into space aboard the “Pioneer” and “Voyager” probes, as well as the Arecibo radio telescope signal.
Together, we will explore why space cannot be reached without a spacecraft, how astronauts live aboard the ISS, how scientists search for potentially habitable planets, what conditions are essential for life on Earth, and whether the messages we send into space will ever reach other intelligent beings. In search of answers to the most exciting questions, we will travel through space in real time, watch educational fulldome films and animations, and learn to recognize constellations, nebulae, star clusters, and nearby galaxies in the night sky.
Each interactive session includes:
- interactive quests and educational activities that turn learning about space into an unforgettable experience;
- introduction to constellations in the night sky;
- real-time space travel simulations with interactive exploration of cosmic objects;
- viewing an educational fulldome film or animation.
We will play, learn to think critically, and search for answers like real scientists. We will engage different types of perception (vision, hearing, touch) and various forms of intelligence so that learning becomes an exciting adventure.
The simultaneous engagement of visual-spatial, linguistic-verbal, logical-mathematical, musical-rhythmic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, and existential intelligences, as defined by Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, will enhance learning effectiveness and support the development of a holistic understanding of the world and one’s place within it for participants of “Space Camp 2026”.
All participants will receive a “Space Camp 2026” certificate of participation!
