Planetarium Noosphere Presented Its Full-Dome Animated Film at the International Film Festival in Beijing

On April 8, 2025, the "Science and Technology" section of the 15th Beijing International Film Festival — one of the world’s largest events dedicated to science and popular science cinema — kicked off in Beijing.
This year, the China Science and Technology Museum showcased 50 films from 14 countries. Among this diverse selection, there was only one participant representing Ukraine — Planetarium Noosphere with its full-dome animated film "Space Weekend: In Search of a New Home".
"Space Weekend: In Search of a New Home" tells the story of an extraordinary journey through the Solar System in search of the most suitable planet or moon for colonization. Isaac, a teenager passionate about astronomy, and an exceptionally intelligent cat named Clark set off on a cosmic adventure to find a place that could one day become humanity’s new home. Along the way, they learn fascinating facts about the planets and realize that instead of colonizing other worlds, we must first learn to take care of our own.
The screening in Beijing became a milestone event not only for Planetarium Noosphere but also for the entire Ukrainian popular science industry. It is an opportunity to present Ukrainian projects on the global stage, showcasing creativity, technological potential, and Ukraine’s contribution to science popularization.
Planetarium Noosphere’s participation in this prestigious festival is a vivid example of how Ukrainian scientific initiatives can be competitive and captivating for audiences worldwide.
