NOOSPHERE

PLANETARIUM NOOSPHERE, a joint social educational project between the Aerospace Museum Center for Youth Culture and Education and "Association Noosphere", is aimed at popularizing science and spreading knowledge of the universe among children and youth in the era of technological development and innovation.
With the initiative and funding of “passionaries” and with the support of Mayor Boris Filatov, the Dnipro Planetarium underwent significant dynamic transformations from 2019-2020, including a complete equipment overhaul and major building modernization.

In addition to equipping the Star Theater with a modern projection system, the Planetarium now has an exhibition space with a top level of comfort, suitable for all groups of visitors, especially people with special needs.

"Association Noosphere" (Noosphere) is a public organization that popularizes science and modern technologies for young people and creates a favorable environment for the development of innovative business in Ukraine. Noosphere initiatives bring together scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, experts and enthusiasts from various fields into a passionate community where everyone can give their own ideas and innovative projects the spark of life.

Noosphere co-founder Max Polyakov is a public figure, an international entrepreneur in the field of space technologies and IT, a Doctor of Economic Sciences managing partner of the Noosphere Ventures investment fund, as well as the founder of Firefly Aerospace, EOS Data Analytics, SETS, Renatus, Maxpay and more.

The Noosphere philosophy is based on the theory of Volodymyr Vernadsky, an outstanding scientist, public figure and the first president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, who defined the noosphere as a sphere of interaction between society and nature, within which intelligent human activity becomes a determining factor of development.

An important feature of a person with noosphere thinking is a great responsibility for one's own actions to future generations - that is, to oneself, one's environment, the country, the planet... It is precisely such people, passionate personalities, that Noosphere gathers around itself, implementing a number of social projects.

Michael Ryabokon is a co-founder of the NGO “Association Noosphere”, a co-founder of the Noosphere Engineering School  —  an engineering and research centers network based at Ukrainian universities, a consistent head of the jury of NASA Space Apps Challenge hackathon, a speaker at industry conferences and an expert in startup competitions such as the Sikorsky Challenge, Vernadsky Challenge, Pioneers, SVOD Europe, AWS Startup Day.

Numerous of Michael’s innovative ideas have been implemented in many Noosphere community initiatives. With his assistance, Noosphere became a partner of the Spacemodelling Sport Federation of Ukraine, in collaboration with them, the World Cup was held in Lviv in 2016.

Michael holds a Master's degree in Military and Public Administration, in 2020 he received his Ph.D. in Economics. His research focuses on the concept of engineering schools as catalysts for modern production.

NOOSPHERE PHILOSOPHY POSTULATES ARE EMBODIED IN THE NOOSPHERE LOGO

The character of the dreamer boy represents the desire of the space age generations for new discoveries.

“The Young Dreamer” model was created by Hennadii Panov, it was cast for the first time back in 1961. Almost half a century later, the figure of a dreamy boy launching a rocket around the globe was chosen by Max Polyakov as a symbol of the Noosphere philosophy, in which its DNA is metaphorically embedded:

  • Humanity

The sphere in the boy's hands is the Earth as a symbol of the cradle of humanity.
  • Knowledge

The image of the boy symbolizes youth and energy, courage and fearlessness, which are the beginning of a long journey into the world of discoveries and inventions.
  • Technology

The rocket symbolizes an endless thirst for discovery. We are sure that humanity has always been inspired by looking at the sky and aspired to reach cosmic heights. Just like us.

Noosphere Engineering School

Noosphere Engineering School is a network of scientific and technical laboratories on the basis of higher educational institutions of Ukraine, opened and equipped by the public organization "Noosphere Association". Noosphere Engineering School creates an effective startup platform for young specialists of Ukraine and integrates scientific approaches into the business environment. Noosphere Engineering School participants can freely develop their ideas, make prototypes of innovative products, and launch technological startups. All equipment and mentor support of Noosphere Engineering School are provided free of charge. Currently, 9 such laboratories are operating in 7 cities of Ukraine: in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia and Chernivtsi.

Gagarin Park

Gagarin Park is one of Noosphere's social projects, the goal of which is to create a smart space in a student park. In the course of improvement of part of the park area of the Botanical Garden of the Dnipro National University named after Oles Gonchar, pedestrian paths have already been updated, benches and space urns have been installed, new lighting has been installed and free Wi-Fi access points have been installed. This became the basis for the creation of an open-air co-working space - a place for meetings, exchange of knowledge and ideas. Link

Noosphere Space Games

Noosphere Space Games is a virtual rocket modeling competition based on the computer simulation game Kerbal Space Program, organized by Noosphere and the Spacemodelling Sport Federation of Ukraine. In 2022, competitions of this kind took place in Ukraine for the first time.
The game simulates the mechanism of launching rockets and the factors that affect them. Participants have to take into account air resistance, spacecraft mass, fuel consumption, gravity, atmospheric braking and many other technological nuances. The goal of the competition is not only to complete the mission, but also to make your rocket competitive. Link

Noosphere supports spacemodeling sport in Ukraine. As part of cooperation with the Spacemodelling Sport Federation of Ukraine (SSFU), Noosphere annually holds innovative rocketry competitions: Ukraine Rocketry Challenge, as well as championships of Ukraine and stages of the world cup of rocketry sports "Yangel Cup". In 2015 and 2016, Ukraine hosted the European Championship and the World Championships for Space Models, organized by Noosphere and SSFU.

NASA Space Apps Challenge

NASA Space Apps Challenge is the largest international space hackathon organized with the support of NASA in different countries. Participants of the hackathon unite in teams and solve practical tasks from NASA within 48 hours.
Noosphere has been the local organizer of the Dnipro stage of the competition since 2017. Over the years, many reasons for pride have accumulated for the participants of the stage. For example, the two local winning teams continued their triumphant journey at the global level: in 2017, the Spacer team entered the top 10 in the People's Choice category. And in 2020, the FireWay team won in the Best Use of Technology nomination. Link

Noosphere Engineering Race

Noosphere Engineering Race (NER) is the first robotics competition in Ukraine based on the American VEX designer.
Noosphere Engineering Race is a fundamentally new competition format, as it combines educational and competitive elements. During the competition in 2020, participants were assisted by mentors from Noosphere Engineering School, so children and teenagers without special knowledge and skills in robotics could join the competition.
The competition was held in three rounds: a puzzle task; programming in a virtual simulator; competition of real robots from the VEX IQ constructor.
