Planetarium Noosphere Launches the New Summer Season “New Horizons”: Premiere of a New Fulldome Film, Multimedia Exhibition Updates, and New Educational Formats

02 June

On June 1, Planetarium Noosphere presented its 2026 summer premiere “New Horizons”, opening a new season of popular science programs, educational projects, interactive STEAM formats, and multimedia updates.

The centerpiece of the premiere was the debut screening of Planetarium Noosphere’s new in-house fulldome film, “Galactic Voyage”. The new fulldome production is dedicated to the exploration of the Solar System and the distant worlds of the Milky Way. Thanks to the immersive 360° dome format, audiences embark on a spectacular space journey from Earth to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, gaining the opportunity to see planets as they are explored by modern space missions. This fulldome film invites visitors to witness the scorching surface of Venus, the frozen deserts of Mars, dive into the clouds of Jupiter, explore the icy worlds of the outer Solar System, and travel far beyond its boundaries to exoplanets and distant star systems.

“Galactic Voyage” is the conceptual centerpiece of Planetarium Noosphere’s large-scale summer update “New Horizons”, which brings together several new programs and formats combining science, interactivity, and modern approaches to discovering the universe.
As part of the new season, visitors can experience three new astronomy programs:

• “The Gas Giants: Unknown Worlds” (8+) is a journey toward the largest planets of the Solar System and their moons, featuring Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s giant storms, and other remarkable phenomena of these giant planets;

• “A Ticket to Space: The Great Journey Through the Solar System” (12+) is a breathtaking journey across the planets alongside modern space missions and research spacecraft;

• “Summer Skies: Constellations and Celestial Phenomena” (8+) is a program dedicated to the brightest objects of the summer night sky, constellations, and seasonal astronomical events.

Another major innovation of the new season is the launch of a completely new educational format — STEAM workshops — interactive sessions combining science, technology, engineering, creativity, and hands-on participation. Their core idea is to transform every participant into an explorer who discovers nature and science through quests, problem-solving, and practical experience.
For the summer premiere, Planetarium Noosphere prepared two STEAM workshops:

“Forward to the Stars!” is an interactive quest where participants discover how spacecraft work, why it is impossible to travel to space by airplane or hot-air balloon, and experience a simulated orbital flight in the Star Theater.
“Life Beyond Earth” is an interactive quest where participants decode messages humanity has sent to extraterrestrial civilizations and learn how modern scientists search for habitable planets beyond the Solar System.

For the third consecutive year, Planetarium Noosphere is also launching its summer astronomy school “Space Camp”.
This year’s intensive program, “Space Camp: New Horizons”, includes four interactive sessions dedicated to expanding the boundaries of humanity’s reach — from the first spaceflights to the search for other worlds and the messages humanity has sent into deep space. Participants will take part in interactive quests, real-time space journey simulations, exploration of the starry sky, studies of astronomical objects, and fulldome screenings.

In addition to educational formats, the summer season introduces an experimental retreat format called “Space Relax” — a mental well-being session under the Dome of the Star Theater designed to awaken emotional perception, unlock new ways of experiencing the world, and immerse visitors in a meditative state, where a journey through the most distant and spectacular regions of our galaxy becomes an invitation to discover oneself.

One of the key updates of the summer season is the complete multimedia transformation of Planetarium Noosphere’s exhibition area.
All tablets throughout the exhibition area have been updated with new content. The new multimedia elements allow visitors to interact more actively with exhibits, explore space objects and natural phenomena, complete thematic tasks, and discover scientific principles through personal experience.

Planetarium Noosphere emphasizes that a modern planetarium is not only a place for projecting the starry sky, but a multifunctional space that combines science, culture, technology, interactive engagement, mental recovery, and self-development.
The new summer season “New Horizons” is now officially open, and all new programs and formats are available to visitors starting June 1.
