Awarding the participants of the Astronomy Quiz: Space Exploration contest
12 November
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Separate Structural Subdivision “Professional College of Rocket and Space Engineering of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University”, Planetarium Noosphere held a competition for students “Astronomy Quiz: Space Exploration”.
During the competition, students had to answer 15 test questions of varying difficulty levels, ranging from an introduction to space to the Astronomy Expert section, where students demonstrated logical thinking and a deep understanding of astronomical phenomena. The competition was attended by 84 students aged 16 to 35, who showed a high level of knowledge and interest in space.
Given the students' high scores, all the contestants were invited to a free session at Planetarium Noosphere, where they were able to deepen their knowledge during a tour of the Planetarium Noosphere exhibition area accompanied by a space guide, visit the virtual reality zone, watch a live travel lecture and the full-dome movie Voyager: Voyage to Infinity in the Starry Hall.
“Our goal is to encourage students to study astronomy and natural sciences, especially those who choose professional fields. Cooperation with the Professional College of Rocket and Space Engineering of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University is not the first experience of holding joint events, and we are glad that we have the opportunity to promote the development of young talents in the field of science and technology,” said Yulia Prybitkova, Executive Director of the Aerospace Museum Center for Culture and Education of Youth (Planetarium Noosphere).
Tetyana Mandryka, head of the preparatory department of the Professional College of Rocket and Space Engineering of Oles Honchar National University of Ukraine, expressed her gratitude to Planetarium Noosphere for the cooperation and presented a letter of thanks.
At present, the Professional College of Rocket and Space Engineering of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University is enrolling students in preparatory courses for 9-10th graders, which will last 5 months.
