"Space Game Development" project

Planetarium Noosphere and Noosphere Engineering School are launching the "Space Game Development" project, which will allow students of the 1st-2nd years of the Dnipropetrovsk Region Higher Secondary School not only to discover their talents and acquire skills in developing their own games, but also to immerse themselves in the exploration of the universe.

During the "Space Game Development" project, participants will learn the basics of creating games on the Godot Engine platform, apply the acquired skills to develop games in a team according to a given technical task (accompanied by a mentor), and also receive space prizes for developing the best game.

1. Godot Engine game development master class:

Dates: November 9-10, 2023
Location: Noosphere Engineering School (Dnipro, 13 Naukova St., building #9 of O. Honchar DNU)
Master class program: installation of Godot Engine on Linux/Windows operating systems, familiarization with the interface and features of creating games using Godot Engine, creating a game on ready-made 2D models.

2. Hackathon (development of games by teams according to the given technical task):

Dates: November 13-23, 2023
Location: Noosphere Engineering School (Dnipro, 13 Naukova St., building #9 of O. Honchar DNU)
Hackathon program: within 10 days, participants must prepare an interactive application (computer game) according to the given technical task. Every day during November 13-23, 2023 (except Saturday and Sunday), there will be mentoring sessions in which every participant will be able to participate in person.

3. Evaluation of developed games and awarding of winners

Location: Planetarium Noosphere (city of Dnipro, 10 Krutohirnyi Uzviz)
Each IT project will be evaluated by a professional jury. The developers of the best games will receive space prizes from the Planetarium Noosphere, and the winning games will be displayed on interactive tablets in the Planetarium Noosphere exhibit.
