An exhibition of paintings on the theme of space ecology opened in Planetarium Noosphere

12 April
Today, on April 12, 2024, the exhibition "Heavy metals" by Anastasiia Rozumna from Dnipro was opened at Planetarium Noosphere. The exhibition presents a series of works consisting of 6 canvases that highlight environmental issues, drawing attention to the pollution of not only our planet but also outer space. The series of paintings is made in the style of poster "propaganda" art of the 60s and 80s, characteristic of the era of rapid development of astronautics.

The exhibition "Heavy metals" aims to draw public attention to the need for changes in the way we think and act.

Planetarium Noosphere is currently running an updated program "Colonization and Space Ecology". The scientific exposition Planetarium Noosphere introduces Dnipro residents and guests to the current problems of space ecology, such as light pollution, debris in Earth's orbit, the depletion of mineral resources in the bowels of our planet and the emergence of garbage continents.

These issues are also reflected in two full-dome cartoons produced by Planetarium Noosphere, Space Weekend: New Home and Beyond the Horizon: The Great Space Cleanup, based on the graphic novel by Jan and Joachim Cechersky, which were selected for screening at the Fulldome Festival Brno 2024 in Brno (Czech Republic).

That's why Anastasia Rozumna's exhibition is taking place in the space of Planetarium Noosphere, reflecting the importance of ecological thinking not only on Earth but also in space.

Everyone can visit the artist's exhibition until May 12, 2024 during the space sessions of Planetarium Noosphere (included in the ticket price). The current schedule can be found here.

The paintings presented in the Planetarium Noosphere space will be available for purchase after the exhibition ends.
